Where whiskey & creativity meet, Maui Sugar Mill Saloon in Tarzan may be on the outskirts of LA but it is a live music beacon. Having hosted performances from Dave Grohl, Slash and more, the saloon offers warm ambiance, pool tables, patio seating and fairly priced cocktails. If you haven't tried it at least once, you're not a true local.
Once a favorite of iconic author Hunter S. Thompson, Tony’s Saloon is now a favorite of ours. Open every day of the year, the Arts District staple is a must and has the tangential bonus of neighboring Pizzanista!. Grab your friends, a slice, and a fine cocktail and get ready for a good night.
The Cha Cha Lounge has been pouring and serving to Silver Lake residents since 2005. Over the past decade, plus the red-tinted bar, festive decorations, foosball tables and Photo Booth have populated the lives and social feeds of locals from all parts of LA. From the music nights to the staff, to the clutch taco truck parked just down the street, this list wouldn’t be complete without Cha Cha.
There’s nothing quite like delicious hot and fried chicken served with ice cold beer. If you’ve frequented The Bootleg Theatre, chances are you’ve passed, or even listed Crawfords. With food made fresh on-site it doesn’t get much better than this classic dive.

More than that, The Monty hosts an array of music nights with talented local DJ’s spinning beneath the iconic buffalo head.
Enter as strangers, leave as friends. The Tattle Tale Room’s mantra is as warm as its staff. The Culver City hub is a classic dive and local favorite with beer on tap and nightly karaoke. Greenbay Packers fans will find an especially cozy home here!
The Roost on Los Feliz is a cash-only, old-school dive beloved by locals. Free popcorn and a well-stocked jukebox make for a welcoming atmosphere that you can easily settle into for a good time.
Beer lovers, Tony’s Darts Away is a local haven both in location and in their servings. Their menu is all craft, all draught, and all California. Stop by to catch a game, to grab a west coast brew or both!
